About Rhodochrosite

Known as the "rose-colored" stone, Rhodochrosite is beloved by mineral collectors and jewelry enthusiasts alike for its distinct raspberry-red to soft pink hues, often accented by natural white banding. Famous sources include the Sweet Home Mine in Colorado (USA), Argentina, and China — and it holds the honour of being the state mineral of Colorado.

• Hardness: 3.5–4 on the Mohs scale — soft and delicate, best worn with care.

Identification Tips

• Streak: White
• Hardness Test: Easily scratched by a knife or glass

• Authenticity: Real Rhodochrosite has natural, uneven, greyish-white banding — fakes often show very uniform or harsh black stripes

Note: Due to its perfect cleavage and softness, this pendant should be handled with care and stored separately from harder gemstones.
